My Groups

Introduction

Our My Groups feature allows a customer to add multiple drivers to their account, enabling use cases to be covered where a single vehicle may be driven by multiple drivers e.g. a parent with a vehicle which is also driven by their children.

With My Groups, each user is still able to receive the key benefits of the mobile app solution such as journey recording and coaching, whilst enabling a better picture to be built up regarding the risks associated with a vehicle.

Use-Cases

Below are some illustrative examples to show how My Groups looks from a customers perspective in the mobile app.

My Groups is accessible via the settings menu, enabling customers to gain further insights regarding their premium price.

User Roles and Permissions

In essence there are two roles, an "Owner" and "Member". The "Owner" is usually the primary user of the vehicle, with a "Member" being additional user(s) which are added to form a group.

The below table denotes the different roles available and the corresponding permissions as part of the My Groups feature. An 'X' against a feature means the user has the permissions needed to use the feature.

¹Each user can decide if they would like to share their trips with the group. ²An owner can decide whether or not a "Member" should be able to redeem vouchers.

Notes: coins and voucher redemption features are only relevant to implementations where the Voucher Shop is present in the mobile app.

Mobile App Behaviour

  1. An owner can invite additional users to the app through sharing an invitation code, valid for a limited duration of time.

  2. Each additional user is required to download the app and provide the invitation code as part of the sign-up process.

  3. Each user (including "Members") can choose whether they wish to share all their trips with the other users in the group.

  4. Should a user decide to share their trips, only car trips will be shared. Trips with other methods of transport e.g. tram, bus, train etc. will not be shared.

  5. An owner can also decide whether the additional members in the group are allowed to redeem vouchers.

  6. Every user sees and achieves their own individual driver score in the app, there is no concept of a vehicle score.

  7. In instances where a user (owner or member) has decided to share their trips, this will not impact the scoring associated with other users.

  8. Each of these users will get their own unique score for the trips they have driven.

  9. Each user will not be able to see the score of other drivers, just their own score.

  10. Every user within a group can contribute to the total number of coins earned. This creates an incentive for the user as the more drivers they add to the vehicle, the more coins they are likely to earn.
